Shifting Soil: Sediment Management Policies in LA

According to sciencedaily.com, sediment is "any particulate matter that can be transported by fluid flow and which eventually is deposited as a layer of solid particles on the bed or bottom of a body of water or other liquid." To many in southern California, however, it means so much more. Sediment makes up our beaches, creates habitat, forms our rivers and blocks our dams. How we manage it speaks volumes to our ability to interact with and benefit from our natural environment.

Arlington Gardens Fifth Anniversary Party

Come to Arlington Gardens this Saturday, April 30 from 9:30-2pm. If you haven't been yet, it's the perfect time of year to see wildflowers in bloom, and enjoy the truly magnificent urban oasis, that once was an empty lot in the middle of Pasadena. It's been a five year labor of love for Constant Gardeners Betty & Kicker McKenney, Mayita Dinos, La Loma and many others. We hope to see you there!

2011 So Cal Permaculture Convergence

We are proud to be a sponsor of the 2011 Southern California Permaculture Convergence. Hosted by the The Los Angeles Permaculture Guild, it will be at Camp Hess Kramer, located in the Santa Monica Mountains along the ocean near the LA/Ventura border. This year's convergence is centered around the theme of Reconnect, Reskill, Regenerate. From April 29th - May 1st, 2011.
